Summary
There was the usual second-hand book stall -- loaded with paperbacks which it was right to sell for ten pence because they were never worth a pound. The cake stall did brisk business because the rubric 'home-made' still has mystical powers of attraction. So did the tea shop, though the infant-sized plastic chairs did not encourage relaxing over a second cup.
