Summary
I used to live in one of the former estate cottages, which had fine views of the magnificent Cranborne Chase. Rushmore had shrunk considerably by then; the general's house is now a prep school and there's a golf course. The historic King John's House at Tollard Royal, said to have been the royal hunting lodge, is lived in by one of those who inherited the estate from the Pitt Rivers elder great-grandson. One of his neighbours is Madonna.
