Sir: Not for the first time Taki (High life, 12 June) praises Hitler's generals, in this case saying that 'if that moron Hitler had listened to von Rundstedt [on D-Day] . . . I am convinced the Wehrmacht would have held'. He adds that the Allies had Overwhelming advantage' as if it were unfair. So if Hitler hadn't been a moron and the Allies hadn't had an advantage, then what? The invasion would have failed? And?

From Mark TinneySir: Peter Oborne (Politics, 12 June) describes Ukip as a 'rackety collection of conmen, perjurers, convicted criminals and semi-racists'.
