Sir: Not for the first time Taki (High life, 12 June) praises Hitler's generals, in this case saying that 'if that moron Hitler had listened to von Rundstedt [on D-Day] . . . I am convinced the Wehrmacht would have held'. He adds that the Allies had Overwhelming advantage' as if it were unfair. So if Hitler hadn't been a moron and the Allies hadn't had an advantage, then what? The invasion would have failed? And?

Sir: Peter Oborne (Politics, 12 June) describes Ukip as a 'rackety collection of conmen, perjurers, convicted criminals and semi-racists'. This must be a different party from the one to which I belong. I am not a conman and have never been convicted of perjury or criminal activity. As to 'semi-racist', I do not know what he means by that.
